NYC Apartment Tour

Happy happy Friday y’all! Today I’m getting around to a much requested post, sharing my apartment in NYC! I’ve shared so many sneak peaks on snapchat (kayleighmadam), and I finally got it together enough to share the most adored part of my apartment, the living room. To really share this with y’all I decided to film a video instead. I’m hoping to continue to get more comfortable with everything that is vlogging and continue to make more videos for y’all. I didn’t include my bedroom on this tour because I still have to get my rug under my bed somehow and find a few more things to declutter it all, but I hope you enjoy my video! I’ve included pictures below to show a little more of the space. Subscribe to my Youtube channel so you never miss a video in the future.

So a little bit about my apartment: for starters I have decided to name it the Dreamhouse, think Barbie Dreamhouse but more like Kayleigh’s Kloset Dreamhouse-it’s just so fitting! I live in a true one bedroom apartment a little towards midtown. My best friend Ellen is living with me for the summer, but come August I’ll live all by myself! We used a broker towards the end of April to help us find the apartment, and I was originally super persistent on East or West Village. I lived in East Village doing NYU dorms the last two summers, so I was hoping West Vil would be my next venture. When we toured West Vil apartments, we found that with our budget we weren’t going to find a good sized space with the amenities that I had been hoping for. You never realize how big of a luxury things are like central air and laundry in your house until you live in NYC! When we found the apartment I live in now, it ended up crossing everything off of my wish list and it has an amazing roof top view that includes the true New York skyline with the Empire State Building in sight.

My apartment is super girly as you probably could have guessed. I started shopping in December to space everything out like big purchases and things, but I used my bed and shelves from my house in Norman. The two statement pieces are my egg chair and hot pink couch. Both took a little breaking in, but there’s nothing better than relaxing on my hot pink couch after a long day! I’m still hoping to order an actual coffee table eventually, and making my couch L shaped, and then a shelf to put my nicer purses on and a storage ottoman to go underneath my gallery wall. One downside about my apartment is that I have concrete walls, so I can’t hang curtains which isn’t a big deal in my living room, but I have my curtains in my room currently hung up by command hooks which isn’t too cute! I’m linking as many products as I can below incase you want to twin! Also going to link the different stores I’ve been shopping from so that you can browse on your own! What do y’all think? Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
