Happy Monday’all! I had quite a few DM’s following last Sunday where I shared one of my favorite Sunday traditions, Aperol Spritzes on Sunday’s to “Spritz through Summer.” Essentially, it’s nothing crazy but (practically) every Sunday my friend Nikki and I get together on my patio to enjoy the summer weather, an Aperol Spritz (or four) along with a cheeseboard or some sort of dip and crackers. Something about starting your week off with a refreshing spritz is so perfect to me, and they’re actually SO easy to make since they’re less than 5 ingredients!
Before I get to the cocktail of the season, I wanted to round up my favorite summer accessories that easily go along with an Aperol Spritz or two. When it comes to summer, I’m always for affordable, trendy accessories that essentially make your life easier and these four are tried and true so far!
1. Heart Sunglasses. These made their appearance last year, but I hope they never go out of style because they’re so fun. Since they’re only $9.99 I’m currently on my third pair. I have other colors (i.e. red + black) for different months, but for the summer I love having my white, cat eye pair.
2. A beaded headband that’s only $6, compared to the $125 designer option. I’m sure you’ve seen these headbands everywhere, and I’m a little hesitant to say that I’m on the bandwagon here. This one is only $1 (with about $5 – $6 shipping). Still a win! I have so many colors.
3. Avon’s Vitamin C Lip Treatment. I’ve always had my testimony about chapped lips going on year-round here, and this lip treatment is perfect for summer! It goes on easy, can go in any summer bag, and is super nourishing.
4. My little pink Zac Zac Posen Bag. There’s always a need for a bright bag in the summer, and I can’t get over how adorable this little option is for a summer night out. Not to mention it’s my favorite color!
Now onto the fun stuff, the drink recipe! Seriously, Aperol Spritz’s are the most refreshing drink I’ve ever had and would be a hit for large parties or groups of girlfriends. PLUS they’re so easy to make!
Ingredients:
-Aperol
-Club Soda
-Prosecco
-Fresh Orange
Directions:
1. Fill a wine glass with ice to the top
2. Pour Aperol to fill approximately 1/3 of the glass. You can adjust this based on taste, but I typically pour to fill 1/4 or 1/3 of the glass.
3. Normal directions say to pour in equal amounts of Prosecco, but I typically pour in enough to fill about a half inch before the top of the glass.
4. Add a splash of Club Soda to top off with some fizz.
5. Slightly squeeze an orange into the glass and garnish with the remainder.
6. Enjoy outside with a cheese board (I suggest Brie + Prosciutto).
Definitely let me know if you test this one out, and I don’t know why you wouldn’t considering it’s such an easy one! Have a great day and thanks for reading!
