Happy day after Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had the best day spent with their family and loved ones.  Isn’t it crazy how fast the holidays fly by as you get older?! I swear finals week takes a huge tole on enjoying the holiday season, but I spent my last few days driving clear all over Oklahoma, seeing possibly every single member of my family on my Mom’s side. Let me tell you, I hadn’t seen some of those relatives since I was only a few months old, and it makes my heart insanely happy to see my family. Fun Fact: I go to school in Oklahoma, but am a Texas native. Both my parents grew up in Oklahoma and everyone in my family, except my Mom, Dad and brother, live in different parts of Oklahoma.

I love to keep the holiday spirit alive while it’s still December, and I’m not bidding adieu to my plaid just yet! I loved plaid because it reminded me of Christmas, but I think it’s a winter staple print in general. I always get great plaid button downs from J. Crew Factory or J. Crew during their sale, and this one is last season but there are other great options in stores now! Nothing pairs better with plaid than sequins (or leopard), and this midi skirt has been on major repeat since I received it about a week ago. I love the length, and the way it flows when you walk. It’s extra sparkly, but it’s so durable it can be worn for playing with younger cousins throughout the holiday season or a massive shopping trip during all of the after-Christmas-sales. I paired my sequins and plaid with an old crystal statement earring, something that every girl needs in her jewelry box, and my favorite red booties. An initial necklace from Audrey Durden was the perfect way to add a bit of personalization without taking away from the glitz in the skirt.
