My Current Favorite Haircare Products

Happy Friday y’all and happy weekend! I’m working from home today and hoping to knock out a chunk of my work projects before 6:00 hits and my good friends birthday weekend begins! I wanted to switch up today’s post and share a bit of beauty items that I’ve recently have found literally save my life. One of the biggest issues I have is keeping my hair bright and blonde in the city. Since I get highlights, it tends to be pretty obvious when my hair starts to grow out. While I love that its getting longer, I absolutely hate my roots showing. Maintaining haircare in the city is absolutely crazy expensive, like probably my electric + cable bill combined. My mom owns a salon and spa in Houston, so I’ve always just been squeezed in by the amazing Jennifer Saenz. Since I can’t go home near as much (probably once every six months), I’ve had to find haircare items that help prolong my blonde as long as possible. Below are the 5 items I’ve found that really help with my color, and a few other things:

1. Aveda Pramasana Purifying Scalp Cleanser. I’m not too sure if this is because I get my hair colored, or if the air up here is dryer than Houston/Oklahoma, but my scalp tends to get so irritated here! When it’s hot in the summer, or I’m trying to stretch dry shampoo’d hair an extra day it’s especially bad. The Aveda Pramasana Purifying Scalp Cleanser literally has saved my scalp. It reduces irritation and soothes, not to mention it smells seriously amazing.

2. Kenra Platinum Color Charge Spray Serum. This serum is amazing, it’s a heat + external factor protectant specifically for colored hair. It’s moisturizing, so it doesn’t dry out your hair in the process and the packaging is so cute! It’s great for blondes especially since you’re practically bleaching your hair when you turn it blonde.

3. Kenra Brightening Treatment. Ok y’all, this stuff is a God send. I use the shampoo and conditioner in addition, but this treatment is a masque that I leave on for about five minutes. It removes brassy tones (aka my natural hair color) and leaves your blonde looking platinum and fresh. This has really helped when my roots start to show, and it actually leaves my hair super soft!

4. Aquage Straightening Ultragel. I’ve been a fan of this stuff for years. It’s a leave in gel that you apply to damp hair and either blow out or air dry. It keeps my ends smooth, my hair soft, and it also works as a detangler for me! I use it literally overtime I wash my hair, and it even helps if you’re curling your hair too and not just straightening.

5. Wet Brush. I will never go back to another brush after having the Wet Brush. This little thing tangles through all of my knots (and trust me there is a TON come Sunday), without any pain! It’s such a life saver that I bought a smaller one from Duane Reade to keep in my purse for traveling/work. Such a fan!

So that’s all of my favorites! Which are you currently loving? Linking all below, have a great day and thanks for reading!
