Happy Wednesday y’all! Kicking off my FIRST no-spend July post today to round up all items I’ve purchased this week and how it’s going so far. Obviously this first round up is a bit different since July only started on Monday, I’m coming straight from a trip that was a little heftier spend than expected, and I’m leaving for another trip today but still sharing all updates! Also linking some of my recent Instagram in the post with all outfit details, so shop away!

This week was definitely a weird week being the first one, a short one, and not as many expenses as I expected to have. I tried to eat what I had in my freezer as opposed to buying piece mail groceries, knowing that I leave Wednesday night for the holiday. I plan to do a larger grocery trip on Sunday morning that’s a little more thought out so I can stock up a bit until my mom comes to visit later in the month.

I noticed Monday night/Tuesday morning that I’m running low on some of my go-to cleaning supplies, so I vetted different purchasing options and decided to go with Amazon Prime for convenience (I typically utilize Max Delivery, a grocery delivery service in New York, but the minimum is higher than I would spend on Amazon). Another thing I realized I had been putting off? Laundry. I use the wash & fold drop-off service a good portion of the time, and personally wash things like my sundresses, jeans, and bedding in the basement of my building. The delivery service is a convenience thing as well, because I leave it with the door man in the morning, have it picked up and delivered by the time I get home.

Other than a few things, I really don’t have a ton of expenses this week! I won’t lie, it definitely isn’t fun when all you want is to go on a walk, buy a $10 salad at the Deli as opposed to the food you brought – especially when it’s so gorgeous out. BUT I’ve been going for the walk with colleagues and keeping the wallet in office. It’s only week one, so once I have a moment to really meal prep everything and make meals I enjoy I think it will be easier.

Factoring in travel, knowing it’s going to be so crazy on Wednesday to get to the airport I will be venturing via Subway (Lord help me) to get to LaGuardia. I’ve always subway’d to JFK because it is really easy, but never LaGuardia so here’s hoping this works. I’m also bringing my own water bottle to fill at the airport which is another shocking traveling fun fact. We’re being serious about saving money here people!!

Expenses for Week 1: (*NOTE: Week 1 consists of 3 days LOL)
-Laundry (wash & fold drop off service): $47.75
-Laundry (washing in-building): $20 *Only accepts cash towards a prepaid card that can be saved for later use
-Amazon (Paper towels, Tampons, & Dish Washer Pods): $46.78
-Transportation (SUBWAY to the airport): $10

Total spent: $124.53
Key learning from the first week: I think the biggest thing that shocks me is how much gets spent in a short-period of time. This was a mere three days honestly, even though I won’t be spending much on my trip. I’m SHOOK that small necessities add up this much in a few days… I was even trying to be frugal since it was only the beginning.

NEXT WEEK will be a totally different post factoring everything spent traveling, on vacation, and actual trips to the grocery store! Let me know how your no-spend July is going in the comments. What do y’all think? Have a great day and thanks for reading!
