Friday Five Vol. 3: Recent New York Things

Capture

Happy Friday y’all, and happy long weekend! We have a half day at work today and I have eight billion errands to run before I leave for the airport at 4:00 AM. BUT I’ll be heading to Mexico so who can really complain here?

For today’s Friday Five I wanted to share a few random things I’ve done or tried in the city recently. I find myself always doing the same few things, so anytime I can try something actually new I’m thrilled whether it’s a bar, restaurant or experience. Recently I’ve been getting out a bit more with friends have crossed some things off my to-do list. What do y’all think? Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!

1. 1803 NYC. I went to this little place for brunch with my friend Alex and it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! It’s a New Orleans/creole-style restaurant in TriBeca, a little further than I would initially go for brunch but they have great drinks and food! Plus they had a live jazz band. Overall, the atmosphere was super cute and great for a sunny day.

2. Public Hotel’s Rooftop. I recently went to an event to celebrate the opening of Public Hotel’s roof and this is easily one of the best views of the city. The roof is spacious and they have great cocktails, plus you can get a two-for-one picture with the Freedom Tower or Empire State Building.

3. Tootsie’s on Browadway. I saw Tootsie on broadway last week with my coworker, Kat, and it was the absolute funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I stopped laughing once! It was so, so great. I highly recommend seeing if you come to the city.

4. The Hard Rock Hotel in Atlantic City. On a slightly separate note, if you’re a New Yorker you split your time between trying to leave the city in one of the surrounding destination spots. Last weekend I ventured to Atlantic City where we stayed at the new Hard Rock Hotel and it was amazing. The hotel was affordable for us, and we had a room big enough to fit a party of 10 let alone 2. Definitely recommend it for a weekend getaway.

5. Webster Hall. Recently reopened, Webster Hall is an amazing concert venue that I’ve been to twice now. They now have a large main floor with three (I think) bars throughout the venue – so there’s never a super long wait. They have some great artists coming up, and the best part is that they have weekday concerts and you don’t have to go super far from home considering it’s in East Village.
