Happy Thursday y’all! I’m heading back from a packed week in LA today and can’t wait to hop into my own bed (and honestly get to Barry’s because #travelbloat). After many Q’s on IG stories I wanted to round up my go-to protein smoothie I’ve been making over the last few weeks in a post. Now that I spent the week in LA I feel even MORE obligated to eat healthy/clean – so let’s call this week motivation to say the least.

I’ve always tried to eat healthier and really watch what I put into my body. One thing I’ve been LOVING since I’ve been opting for early AM workout classes has been protein smoothies. Typically in the morning when I get back from Barry’s, I’ll make about two servings ASAP, place one in the freezer and one in the fridge in my Yeti Tumbler (pink obvi). I’ll take it to work and sip on it throughout the morning to hold me over along with my giant water bottle. It’s filling, gives you the nutrients you need and keeps my brain off of snacking in the early hours.

I’ve tried quite a few different brands of protein powder based on what was available on Amazon or somewhere convenient in the past. From Trader Joe’s to Tone it Up, and finally my most favorite protein powder I’ve found: Hush & Hush. I’m a sucker for anything chocolate, and this protein powder from Hush & Hush helps fill any craving I have without indulging too much. I shared my smoothie recipe on IG stories last week but wanted to round it up on the blog after tons of questions!

A little bit about the Hush & Hush Plant Your Day Protein Powder & why I love it compared to other protein powders I’ve tried:
-It’s a plant-based formula packed with superfoods, probiotics, and fibers (plus tons of other goodness). Since it’s plant-based it’s easily digestible and doesn’t leaving me feeling bloated compared to other protein powders.
-Their website provides tons of recipes to incorporate the protein powder in HERE
-It’s super chocolatey, so if you have a sweet tooth like I do it’s perfect! Most flavored proteins I try don’t hit that sweet spot, but this one is almost like being a kid drinking chocolate milk!!
-It dissolves different (assuming because it’s plant based), but if I just mix with Almond Milk and shake in one of my on-the-go cups it doesn’t remain a powdery/chalky substance!

Recipe:
-1 cup of frozen berries (I like raspberries + strawberries)
-Almond Milk to cover (could switch with Chocolate Almond Milk for extra chocolatey-ness)
-1/2 cup of Ice
-1 Hefty Scoop of Hush & Hush Plant Your Day Protein Powder

Steps:
The steps are very straightforward obviously, but you essentially pour all into your blender and mix! I like the berries for a hint or tartness (I’m a sucker for chocolate and raspberries), but Hush & Hush gave me the tip to mix one scoop of protein powder with Almond Chocolate Milk for a real chocolate fix!

If you have a blender bottle you can definitely mix this up in one of those too, as I’ve found it’s a little difficult to mix with just a plain spoon.

I use my smoothie as a meal replacement to keep me going. Sometimes I’ll even have one for dinner instead since my chocolate cravings typically come about at night.

What do y’all think? Have a great day and thanks for reading!
