Happy Tuesday y’all! With summer literally around the corner now that Memorial Day Weekend is basically here, I figured it was time to round up some of my favorite swimsuits for summer season. Since I’m in Houston until the foreseeable future with a pool at both of my homes, I’ve picked up a few more swimsuits than I normally would have for the summer in the city. I started with a few just from Target to have at the home/condo because the one I brought home with me is from Ibiza and wearing down a bit, but once I realized I’d be here all summer I knew I needed some sassy seasonal pieces to fit any occasion – from the pool with friends to potential lake trips, to just wearing in the backyard while I work throughout the weekdays.
I’m 5’10 and typically anywhere from a size 8 and above. I have a really long torso and #thicc thighs, so finding a flattering swimsuit on my body type is something I pay attention to when it comes to sharing here or wearing around friend groups. Obviously like any other gal in the game, I tend to be self conscious when it comes to sharing this types of things. Usually in Mexico I have a few dedicated towards the tan (i.e. the two pieces that aren’t as higher waisted, etc.), and those dedicated towards the pics (i.e. the funky one pieces that are trendier). Today I’m sharing a mixture of both so you have a better idea!
I was genuinely shocked with the H&M options I’ve shown above (the ribbed white one piece and the ruffled red high waisted bikini). H&M’s quality is hit or miss, and the sizes are so whack on my body type that if I can’t find a 12-14 I usually can’t get the item. I grabbed these in a large (one piece) and 36C/10 in the bikini and was SHOOK when the bottoms fit over my thighs AND made it to appear high wasted. They’re such affordable pieces and perfect for Memorial Day OR the Fourth of July, I definitely recommend snagging while you can.
