Gift Guide: Mom + Mother-in-Law Edition

Happy Tuesday y’all! Excited to be sharing my first official holiday gift guide of the season. I plan to share all gift guides on the blog on Tuesdays/Thurdsays weekly so there will be plenty of content to look through and shop from as we near crunchtime for the season. I polled you all on Instagram and asked what you wanted to see in terms of holiday content, and you shared so many gift guide options that I never would’ve guessed, which is the perfect transition to my first gift guide: The Gift Guide for your Mom or Mother-in-Law. To be transparent, I don’t have a MIL (obviously, lol) however, I always felt I was a great gifter when it came to past boyfriends moms.

I included a range of giftable items, with the most expensive being the Kendra Scott Customizable Pendant Necklace and Riki Loves Riki Slim Mirror. When it comes to gifting moms in general I think you can’t go wrong with beauty items. There are so many great sets available that are cost efficient like the Sephora Holiday Perfume Sampler Set that includes 13 mini sized fragrances and a voucher to receive one full-sized fragrance at no cost.

If you’re on the lower end of your budget, I highly recommend the JR Watkins Hand Elixir in Cleansing Rosewater because it smells amazing, serves as a hydrating hand sanitizer (definitely needed right now) and I receive so many compliments every time I bring it out! If you aren’t sure what sort of beauty of accessory items they may like, I will now take you to a more universal approach when it comes to gifting: the candle approach.

You truly can’t go wrong with a nice candle for the holidays. I love to receive candles so I can fill my apartment with them, but I never like buying them because they can really add up. I’ve rounded up a few luxury candles that would be perfect for gifting this year, as well as candle accessories. I feel like there was definitely an uptick this year in candle wick trimmers, USB lighters, and more accessories for candles than normal. I’ve included a few listed below to highlight from what I’ve pulled.

USB Lighters are all the rage right now. They are rechargeable and extend so that you won’t burn your finger. They basically zap the wick and light the candle.

Candle Wick Trimmers are all the rage but they actually can help increase your burn time. By trimming away the soot/burnt portion of the wick you help purify the air when you go to burn again (or something like that 😉 )

Matches + Cloche Set is just a chic way to display your matches! There has definitely been an upgrade this year when it comes to candle displays, and this is sure to elevate your space.

Sicily Hill Champagne Candle is a candle I recently got and I can’t get over how luxe the packaging is and how large the three wick candle is! It would make the PERFECT holiday or housewarming gift for anyone, but I really love this champagne scent for mom/MIL. They’re also on sale for $50.

Unique Pillar Candles are all the rage right now (and again the perfect thing to gift because I personally wouldn’t purchase for myself but would want). If you’re traveling to your significant others home this holiday season and don’t want to show up empty handed you could bring a bottle of wine with a few pillar candles and say you thought they would make a perfect center piece or addition to a hot cocoa bar.

What do y’all think? Would love to know if you have any additions. Have a great day y’all and be sure to check back every Tuesday/Thursday for a new gift guide. Thanks for reading! xo
