Happy Tuesday y’all! Trying to get back into the swing of things blog post wise after a slow start to the week. I wanted to use today’s post to round up all of the summer dresses I’ve been wearing over the last few weeks in one spot for easy reference. As I’ve shared many times, when I came to Houston back in March I brought three things: my running shoes, a swimsuit and a pair of leggings. Once I realized I would be here a while my Mom and I took to stores that were reopening and of course online to at least get my closet stocked for the summer. My sweet sweet friend Lauren sent me a few pieces from Aria Rose as well, knowing my predicament.

Obviously when it comes to a new season there are always so many stinking cute options out there! When it comes to a new season in a new city however, you have to think about what is practical to get the most bang for your buck. For instance, Houston is hot as hades right now and really the only think comfortable for me is sleeveless dresses. BUT being from NYC for the last four years, I prefer to go without a bra when it’s really hot because the underwire rubs and results in body acne. BUT (x2) being in Houston, I need dresses that are church appropriate for Sunday mornings, and less targeted towards Saturday nights out. That being said, I don’t need dresses to get me by at the office since I’m working remote in either tie dye lounge/PJS or a swimsuit. Lastly, I’m not looking to rebuild an entire closet here that I’d need to ship back to the city when I ultimately make my return but I do need enough things that stay in stock to continue sharing on the blog, Instagram and TikTok. The life of a blogger y’all!

I’ve honestly developed a newfound love for Macy’s. I’ve always been a fan but as I got older I found it was harder to navigate compared to a Nordstrom. Once COVID hit, Macy’s went on major sale and had so many options 40-70% off from my favorites like Free People and Champion. They still run so many sales (assuming to get rid of excess inventory and make up for time lost), and I find myself checking in from time to time. My reasoning for picking Macy’s over Nordstrom is that I placed a large Nordstrom order in April and by the time I got all items in to shoot they were all sold out. When it comes to being practical as a blogger, I know how frustrated people get when things aren’t linkable.

I’ll of course continue to buy dresses from places like Amazon, H&M, and Express, but will mainly be hoping to repurpose some of these cuties over the next few weeks until we hit the hot-as-hell month that is August. Is there anything else y’all want to see? Have a great day y’all and thanks for reading!
