My Everyday Hair Routine

Happy Wednesday y’all! Today I wanted to gather a post on my everyday hair routine that I shared over on IGTV earlier this week (who knew you could embed videos into posts?! I did NOT!). See the video below or here. When it comes to my everyday hair routine, I definitely find myself reaching for the same or similar products. I’m a sucker for a leave-in product because I’ve found as I’ve gotten older that my hair needs that. My ends tend to get dry, my length causing my hair to get tangled easily, and I obviously have color treated hair and need to constantly protect that (especially considering I get my highlights done about 4x a year due to not opting for a colorist in the city/trusting my gal Jennifer Saenz at Oasis Medi Spa in Houston too much!).

When it comes to my everyday routine from start to finish, I use quite the handful of products (LOL). I typically switch off between certain shampoos/conditioners/leave-in treatments, but for the most part these items are what I’m always using. I’ve included the steps below. If you have any go-to hair brands you use and love I would love to know! I’m in the market to test a little bit more and be adventurous with my hair in 2020 😉

Have a great day y’all and thanks for reading!

Step 1. Wash thoroughly (duh). I typically use Kenra Platinum Luxe Shine System enriched with gold. It’s a super rich shampoo/conditioner and works great for blondes to keep our strands shiny. I also use Framesi Purple Shampoo as a mask occasionally to keep my blonde bright.

Step 2. Detangle with Kenra Platinum Luxe One Leave-In, an extension of the shampoo/conditioner system enriched with gold. I’ve used this for years and it’s seriously the best. I brush out with a Wet Brush – the best for tangles!

Step 3. Smooth with Olaplex Bond Smoother No. 6. This is a phenomenal product that really helps to seal the cuticle and smooth out strands so that my hair is soft AND strong. I start emphasizing on the ends with a nickel sized amount of product, and then go back through to my roots to smooth the tops.

Step 4. Add moisture to the middle section and again on the ends of my hair with Kenra Moisturizing Oil – one palm full is about as much as I need for product. Since I don’t saturate the middle/crown section of my hair with leave-ins, I look to this oil to give it that moisture and shine. I’ve been traveling with this oil and absolutely love it. If I’m using it alone without all of my leave-ins I’ll use two palm fulls. 10/10 would recommend!

Step 5. Brush through again and blow dry the roots with my Babyliss Pro Hair Dryer. My roots I always have to do quick due to my coloring and I don’t want them to look greasy. The rest I let air dry a bit before I go through with my Revlon One Step Hairdryer in layers. Then I’m good to go! SO easy.
