Spring Refresh: Trendy Lounge Wear + My Work From Home Routine

Happy Tuesday y’all! Today I wanted to round up a few lounge wear items that are trending for spring AND currently on sale. I pulled the trigger and ordered to my home in Houston since I only brought the minimal necessities and I’ve never been so excited for something to come in the mail! Since I’ll primarily be working remote (and needing to stay comfortable since I don’t have an actual desk), and working out I knew I wanted some brighter colors to help brighten the mood honestly.

I also wanted to share my typical work from home routine while I’ve been in Houston. As you all know, I’m a full time beauty publicist so I’ve been working remote for two weeks now and still have to go forth with my day-to-day. Since I’m now in Houston and not focusing on doing things around the house, going out with friends, dating, etc., I’m trying to channel my extra time into working out and blog work (mainly working out if we’re being honest). I’ll be sharing more on lifestyle updates in the coming weeks, but for now my routine is below.

If you’re finding it challenging to work from home every day, let me tell you that I’m right there with you. Especially since I’m home and not in my apartment by myself I have distractions like my puppy and just hanging out with the family. What has worked best for me is having a set amount of time working from a set area (which you’ll see below). This helps you move around the house, optimize small breaks of 5-10 minutes, and ultimately keep you focused on your work for the day.

Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer! Have a great day y’all, stay safe and thanks for reading!

My WFH Routine (while in Texas):
7:30AM: Wake up and click snooze (I’m on central time but working East Coast hours, so I have to get up a little earlier than I normally would in NYC)

7:45AM: Roll over and grab my laptop, do a scan on emails/slacks that have come through. Our set hours are 9AM EST – 6PM EST, but since your laptop is right there and there isn’t much to do, you may choose to get ahead or work earlier/the night before.

8:00AM – 9:30AM: Work from bed with my puppy usually. Because I’m an hour behind I’ve been slower to adjusting waking up earlier, so I usually work from bed for the earlier part of the morning.

9:30AM: Move to the dining room table and make a quick breakfast/coffee. This is usually when we’ll have some sort of call/Zoom meeting to touch base as a team, and then the day really kicks off with weekly to do’s for clients.

11:00AM: Move to a chair by the pool in the backyard. One thing I’m tremendously grateful for during this remote time is having a large backyard with a pool, and Houston’s weather. Working by the pool is so calming and the fact that I’m getting a tan makes me feel like I’m doubling up on productivity.

12:30PM: Make a quick lunch (usually a salad) and eat by the pool. Continue to work outside until our conference calls. Most are in the afternoon, so I spend a good portion of the day outside with the puppy. I take breaks to run around with him or get up and refill on my iced tea.

2:30PM/3:00PM: Head inside and work from our home gym. This may sound a bit nutty, but as it’s towards the end of the day the light really pours through the workout room so it’s nice and bright. Our treadmill is broken and serves as a great desk for my laptop (lol I know), and when I take 5-10 minute breaks I’ll try and lift a few weights. It’s a weird concept, but it’s been helping me stay focused to time out these breaks like I’d usually have in the office to browse products in the back, go chat with colleagues, or go grab a coffee around the corner. Those are the typical breaks, so now that we’re remote I use these small breaks to do things most productive to me as of now.

3:00PM – 5:00PM: Work from the floor for the remainder of the day and check to see if there’s anything I can do to be productive/get ahead of for the next day.

5:30PM: Chat with my parents, go for a run and then come back and check if there are any additional emails to go through. Pending to do’s, I’ll either switch my focus to the blog work I have for the day or sign off for the night. It’s been weird finding a routine for the blog and seeing where it fits in with all that’s going on. Should also point out, a glass (or bottle lol) of wine is always much needed end of day.
