Spring Sephora Sale: Rouge Access

Happy HAPPY Friday y’all and HAPPY SPRING SEPHORA SALE DAY! I have been waiting for this sale to hit the digital space for literally ten days now and I could not be more excited. As y’all know by now, I am a self-proclaimed beauty guru and while I don’t have any specific training in this aspect, I do spend most of my days learning the different technologies of skin/hair care and cosmetics as a beauty publicist. Not to mention, I grew up with a family who owns a Medispa and Salon + my dad is a cosmetic surgeon so I have been around different trending technologies since literally sixth grade. I know a thing or two here, so trust me!

The Sephora sale to my knowledge is throwing the public a bone here at the most opportune time. I’ve found myself scavenging Sephora’s site because I’ve been wanting to dip my toes into different products for problem areas I’ve been experiencing but haven’t done anything about it (read: Vitamin C and rosatia). The only other sale similar to this one is the VIB Sale that happens in the fall (also one of my most shopped posts of 2019!!!!). Definitely take advantage of the sale, especially since beauty products are items you can stock up on (depending on the shelf life).

I’ll be updating this post as the sale goes on, and including a breakdown once access has been granted to the different tiers (i.e best in hair or makeup categories, etc.). Kicking my original post off with what I ordered and how I did my makeup for a Zoom meeting with pals (mainly because there were boys included within the meeting). Let me know if there are any particular items you’re eyeing and/or shopping for! Happy to build on the post or create a new one.

What I Ordered

Oh boy did I go HAM once the sale started. I plotted out my purchases for a few days based on amount I wanted to spend, what I felt my routine needed at this time, new product launches, and the factor that it’s pay day today (lol). I’m so glad I took a poll on IG asking about what skincare products y’all love and what you’ve felt has worked in your own routine. I was able to snag some items recommended and some things that have been on my wishlist for ages at 20% off.

While I’m excited for all of my purchases (lol) I wanted to call out a few items that I’m BEYOND pumped to get in so I can start trying. Most of these are based on reco’s I’ve seen from other influencers or beauty editors.

Sunday Riley Good Genes came from a recommendation from a friend that is GORGEOUS and swear by it (hey, Linds). It’s more of a spend but is a Lactic Acid treatment packed with AHA’s (my fave) to improve skin texture overall. She uses both morning and night and I can’t wait to see how this transforms my skin!

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops is a cult-favorite from bloggers all around. Pollution protection is actually something so important when living in a place like New York, but this specific product has a bronze glow that’s supposed to be perfect when mixing with your moisturizer. Ahead of summer, it seems like a fabulous way to keep that sun kissed look going.

Dr. Jart Cica Rescue Kit is said to help reduce redness if you experience rosatia like I have been. Since I didn’t really know where to start I paid for a kit that has just about everything for me to try before I invest!

Drunk Elephant The Littles Kit is another kit I’d say it’s worth stocking up on to try before you invest. I love all Drunk Elephant products but need to cut down on purchasing full sized items while in Houston for quarantine (I hate checking a bag and will return to NYC at SOME point). This is the perfect kit to keep me stocked for the next month or so and allows me to test a few new things I haven’t tried!

Zoom Meeting Makeup

So let me be clear in saying that for work-related Zoom meetings I’m arriving fresh faced (or more so with my full skincare routine on), and that’s the power in working from home as a beauty publicist. However, if you’re feeling like applying a little bit more to your routine without caking on the makeup, I’ve rounded up a few best-sellers worth investing in during the sale (see the image at the top of this post for how the look turned out).

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder is probably one of the only setting powders I know of with a cult-following. This holy grail can be used to bake under eyes, catch fall out from lose pigments, or set your overall foundation. During this time, I apply my normal moisturizer and primer and then go back in with a loose powder and fluffy brush. It evens skin tone and mattifies shine without being too heavy.

Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in the pink/red tint is one I’ve had for years to apply under my red lip. It’s great for adding a pop of color and it’s easy to take off since it’s just a balm. Super handy for quick video conferences!

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer is a primer that everyone needs because it never disappoints. A super tacky/gel like primer with Sativa Seed Oil to calm redness, it works as glue essentially to grip makeup. Even better, it smooths out pores and fine lines so you can wear it as is on these low activity days.

Benefit They’re Real! Mascara is hands down my favorite mascara to date. Since I no longer have lash extensions, I put this to good use whenever I need to look more awake for the day. I’ve been using for years and have yet to find a mascara that tops this one.

In terms of what I already own and recommend, now is definitely the time to try some of the holy grails I’m constantly talking about! There are so many great products you can try, but I wanted to call out a few that I don’t think I could go without after having used for months.

Tatcha Dewy Skin Creme is probably the most luxurious creme I own. It smells amazing, is a super rich moisturizer and really leaves your skin glowing the next day.

Laneige Lavender Water Sleeping Mask is a very light moisturizing mask that’s super relaxing because it smells like lavender.

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer is the best primer because it’s really tacky, smooths pores and sticks to your makeup so it lasts all day. It has Sativa Seed Oil to help soothe the skin so it’s a summer staple.

Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother is my favorite leave-in treatment that bonds the cuticles and leaves my hair silky smooth after using. It’s easy to travel with, too!
