Friday First Impressions Vol. 2

Happy Friday y’all! Getting another First Impressions Friday up today with one of my favorite topics (that has been awhile) WINE. While I have scaled by my drinking tremendously, the one thing I refuse to give up will always be wine. I’ve gotten to a point that I can’t drink anything other than wine when it comes to alcohol and/or going out. I’ll always be a red wine-o for sure. So today is an ode to that with one of the most cost effective options I’ve found for taste.

Fellow blogger and wine-o, Lynlee, had posted about a wine called Gentleman’s Collection quite a few times from Trader Joe’s so when I went to pick up groceries I knew I needed to grab it. MAN did it not disappoint! In Houston, it retails for $12.99 a bottle so it’s on the more affordable side. For reference, in New York I typically stick to $10-$15 bottles from my local liquor store Lex Liquors. I may need to ship myself cases of this when I finally go back haha.

My First Impression: First up, you can’t beat the price point. The bottle is so cute! The label has a man on it and fun font so it would make a great gift for a housewarming or just a bar cart addition. It has a deep flavor and needs minimal airing after opening. There’s hints of dark fruits and mocha which makes for the perfect scent. MOST IMPORTANTLY: I can get through the bottle without feeling the hurt the next morning and cheaper wines usually give me killer headaches since I’m allergic to the Sulfites.

You can grab Gentleman’s Collection at Trader Joe’s or Total Wine if they’re near you! What do y’all think? Have a great day and thanks for reading!
